EUN, PARK, OR KYUNG?

NYASIAH COLON

Process

From the summer of 2015 to the fall of 2016, I've been heavily immersed in the field of coding and I was loving it. My mentor, Marcy, also has the knack for coding. I know I wanted to do something with those skills but I wasn't sure until one day in ComSci class! My teacher had introduced us to something called Twine. I instantly fell in love with it and I thought it would be a great idea to incorporate into my project!

Revolutionary Moment

It was during our first meeting at the Starbucks near my home. I was still a little sad from the absence my previous mentor, who had moved back to California. Marcy was new to mentoring, and I gave her the gist of what Girls Write Now was as a community and a sisterhood. Throughout that time, I learned how she was an excellent coder, an amazing designer, and how wonderful her company was. She was so open to me and who I was. I started to feel better that day!
