Process

I was listening to "Colors" by Halsey and I wasn't quite sure what the meaning of the song was. I looked it up and it inspired me to write a story about the life of a young rock star that had the potential to join the "27 Club" and a troubled teenage girl who was going through a difficult time.

I used various techniques and platforms that I learned during Girls Write Now workshops like Wix and Digital Mapping.

Revolutionary Moment

The most revolutionary moment between my mentor and I is when she returned from Cuba and told me about her amazing and funny adventures. She open my eyes to the struggles of people in Cuba—mostly women—and helped me realize the true depth of Cuba and America's relationship.
