Digital exhibition:
Qwerty
Held at the Downtown Community Television Center in Manhattan the QWERTY Digital Media Exhibition showcased innovative genre-and medium-bending work by NYC teens.
Their projects ranged from personal statement videos to hard-hitting podcasts, and showcased their spectacular writing and the new digital media skills they have learned in the program. With the help of their mentors, our teens have created masterpieces!
Keynote guest speakers included writer, editor, and public speaker Ashley C. Ford, Executive Communications Senior Associate at Google Kayla Conti, black feminist culture writer for Revelist Evette Dionne, and Girls Write Now mentor and Digital Producer Bec Susan Gill.

From our pop-up workshop:
Previously this year, Digital Media Mentoring mentees explored all about memoir storytelling. They incorporated the skills they had learned in Photoshop and created personalized Google Maps that told a story unique about each one of them! At QWERTY, we had invented a similar smaller-scale, interactive workshop for all those in attendance.
